ESTRAEE Technical Journey-Cross-Border Waste Management Strategy for Electrical and Electronic Equipment

ERP Portugal within the scope of INTERREG program, which promotes cross-border cooperation projects with the support of the European Union, will integrate the Technical Journey of the ESTRAEE project panel, dedicated to the theme “Cross-Border Waste Management Strategy for Electrical and Electronic Equipment”. This event will take place on the morning of June 23, from 9:30 am, in a completely digital and free session.

This is a project aimed at implementing solutions that allow a more sustainable management of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) flow, namely the adaptation of ecocentres in the North of Portugal and Spain for the reception and segregation of this waste liable to recovery and reuse.

Rosa Monforte, ERP Portugal General Manager, reinforces that “our participation in this project aims to encourage the recovery and reuse of electrical and electronic equipment, extending its useful life and putting into practice the principles of circular economy. To facilitate this recovery of electrical and electronic equipment, 9 ecocentres in the LIPOR region were adapted to allow their delivery by citizens, preserving their integrity as much as possible. Recovery and reuse is a pillar of WEEE management that we intend to highlight and encourage!”

In addition to ERP Portugal and ERP Spain, Deputación de Pontevedra, ENERGYLAB and REVERTIA (Spain) are participating in the project, as well as LIPOR – Sistema Intermunicipalizado de Gestão de Resíduos do Grande Porto.
