EDP Comercial Campaign

ERP Portugal and EDP Comercial have just launched an awareness campaign that aims to give a new life to the used or damaged small electrical and electronic equipment. Until October 31, all customers registered at Planeta Zero - the new sustainability program for EDP Comercial's residential customers - will be able to deliver their small and medium-sized (20 × 30 cm) end of life or unusable equipment, from mobile phones to small appliances, in one of the stores identified in the EDP Comercial network.

Integrated in the new EDP Comercial App (EDP Zero app), this initiative aims to encourage the recycling habits of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and contribute, through this movement, to save the planet, which belongs to everyone. Through its network, EDP Comercial will be responsible for receiving these equipment and it will be up to ERP Portugal to collect and guarantee their recycling.

Rosa Monforte, General Manager of ERP Portugal, reinforces that “This is a partnership and awareness-raising action that makes perfect sense, as ERP Portugal manages waste of electrical and electronic equipment, which during its life needs electricity to function. ERP Portugal and EDP Comercial not only have the connection to 'electricity' as a common denominator, but also share an important joint mission: the promotion of new habits and sustainability values ​​in the Portuguese lives. In each of our homes, end-of-life electrical and electronic equipment is often left behind in our drawers, cabinets and storerooms, and, in fact, can count on a new life if delivered in the correct places, such as the Depositrões available in EDP ​​Comercial stores.”

Hália Oliveira, B2C Director of EDP Comercial, says that “The new Planeta Zero Sustainability Program, integrated within the new EDP Zero App, appears precisely in a context in which consumers are increasingly awake to environmental degradation, looking for solutions and new ways to save the planet. And it is this movement, which begins with changing individual behaviors, that this program aims to encourage, promoting a new way of being and challenging the Portuguese to create a greener future. Through this initiative we give life to a new generation - Generation Zero - that is concerned with a cleaner and more sustainable planet, and one that we can all proudly be part of.
